The City has hired a contractor for the installation of professional tree lights in the historic downtown area. The contract includes replacing the electrical outlets with receptacles that are more secure, as well as adjusting the circuitry to allow the City to turn off power to the outlets during daytime hours.
For everyday use, white lights will be displayed. However, the light installation will also allow the City to modify the color of the lights, based on the time of year or holiday season.
Downtown Display Window Improvements
The City has executed a contract for $10,000 with Vista based Mr. Tint to repair downtown display windows that have been vandalized with etched graffiti. The company will install a protective film to make it difficult for the windows to be vandalized in the future. This program is funded by the downtown Central Vista Business Improvement District assessment.
