Oceanside, CA – The Oceanside Transit Center Pedestrian Tunnel Art Project is almost complete! The North County Transit – San Diego Railroad (NCTD) and MainStreet Oceanside (MSO) Art that Excites program collectively gathered more than 3,650 votes, declaring “Oceanside Odyssey” by Jon Hamrick the winner amongst three finalists.
Hamrick and his team are nearing completion on their winning design for the tunnel walls beneath the transit center. The tunnel has remained open, with temporary signage in place.
This project has beautified the pedestrian tunnel at the Oceanside Transit Center and aims to honor Oceanside’s culture and rich history. Throughout the process, the team has transformed the pedestrian tunnel into a vibrant space, creating a welcoming environment and enhancing the transit experience for riders. This project is a partnership between NCTD, MSO, and Caltrans.
