Community Meeting Planned for Downtown Grand Avenue Vision

As part of working with local Escondido businesses to formulate a vision for Grand Avenue in our downtown, the City has applied for funding through SANDAG’s Smart Growth Incentive Program. The visioning process is designed to gain input on various ideas for improvements that will benefit the economic vitality of our downtown. From the visioning process City staff will develop a concept plan to support the funding application.
In an effort to gain input from the community, City staff and consultants from Kimley-Horn will be hosting the first Community Café Meeting in the Mitchell Room at City Hall (201 N. Broadway) on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The meeting will be a café, designed as an open community dialogue. There will be an interactive orientation that will feature boards with design concepts, a quick presentation on complete street elements, and a group exercise at the end to develop a future vision of Grand Avenue.
The participation of the community is vital to the success of this process. The City of Escondido
