The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to accelerate San Diego Counties re-opening into Phase 2. The Board also voted 4-1 to submit a pilot plan for approval to the State prior to phase 3. This plan would allow for an accelerated re-opening of : gyms, youth sports, religious institutions, salons, barber shops, and other currently deemed “non-essential” businesses, with very specific safety precautions. Supervisor Fletcher was the sole NO vote on the item. Several members of the public voiced their concerns with safety while re-opening, while others pleaded for an immediate re-opening of all businesses. After close to four hours of public comment, the Board of Supervisors took a brief recess and will conclude the meeting later this afternoon.
