With fall officially here and winter right around the corner, the 3rd annual Dark Xmas Market and Wildhunt in Vista will be here before you know it! It will take place on December 14th this year. As this event steadily grows and more people become aware of it, it not only brings curious and excited new event go-ers, but also a lot of fear and negativity. To combat this and those fears we have decided that this year, we are focusing heavily on the education behind what this event entails, what these winter spirits are that we’re representing and the history and culture behind it.
If you are unfamiliar with our event, its an alternative/gothic/dark holiday market and a costumed procession featuring dark winter spirits mainly from Slavic, Scandinavian and other European Countries. There will be food, music, activities, art and art-based nonprofits, local artisans and creators with wares for sale (of course!), children’s art activities and the winter spirit procession at the end.
The founder and head of the event would be happy to chat about and provide a little education behind the event in whatever media form you think would be best. We’re excited to spread the word and have some spooky and educational fun with everyone!
