Detour Notice: W. Mission Ave. between Escondido Blvd. and Broadway. Thursday 3/21 – Friday 3/22.
Road inspections revealed a damaged stormwater pipe underneath Mission Road between Escondido Blvd and Broadway, in front of the Ali Baba Restaurant causing the road to slump into the pipe bed.
The excavation of the failed pipe is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st and overnight until 6am on Friday, March 22nd. During that time, there will be a full closure and detour signs placed to direct traffic to alternate routes.
The date and time were selected to minimize the impacts to the driving public and businesses in the area, while ensuring the failure doesn’t develop into a safety issue. Once excavation is complete, we will inform you of the next closures for replacement pipe installation, the project is complicated and near underground utilities from the recent charging station installation and coordinating with SDGE to locate their infrastructure.
