Elizabeth Newton UCI BMX World Champion Day in San Diego County

Board of Supervisors meeting in San Diego County was more than another routine session. It was a day filled with celebration and recognition as the board came together to honor a remarkable young athlete who has made the county proud.

Eliza Newton, the World UCI BMX Racing Champion for girls 12 and under, was honored for her achievements!

At nine, Eliza, a seventh-grade student at Classical Academy in Vista, California, discovered her love for cycling. Her journey in BMX racing has been extraordinary, with an astounding thirty-seven national competition wins. Her journey from a young enthusiast to a world champion is a testament to her dedication and talent. Her passion and hard work earned her a place at the 2023 UCI BMX World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where she claimed the prestigious title of World Champion.

The board’s celebration of Eliza Newton reminds us that exceptional individuals like her enrich our community and serve as role models for aspiring athletes. We celebrate her remarkable journey from a young girl passionate about cycling to becoming a World Champion, an achievement that fills us all with pride.

Eliza Newton’s story is a shining example of what can be achieved in a world where determination and talent can lead to extraordinary accomplishments.
