On August 30, the Fire Department responded to a reported outdoor fire in front of a home on Ronda Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters found a large juniper tree fully involved with fire. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading beyond the tree, however, the fire’s radiant heat caused cosmetic damage to a nearby vehicle. The cause of the fire is suspicious and under investigation.

On August 31, the Fire Department responded to the parking lot of Food 4 Less on North Broadway for a reported motor home fire. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries.

On September 3, Councilmember Tina Inscoe rode along with Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Sargis for several hours. In addition to observing the normal daily routine of our firefighters, Councilmember Inscoe was able to see firsthand how firefighters handled emergency responses and visited the scene of a recent structure fire. The on-duty firefighters appreciated Councilmember Inscoe taking the time to learn about their department.
