Escondido Fire Department Update

On August 14, Escondido Fire received a request to head to Eugene, Oregon to assist in the Bedrock Fire. Captain Dave Abraham, Engineer Pat Wallace and Firefighters Daniel Pettinato and Eric Roberts drove the brush rig, which can carry 600-1500 gallons of water and is designed for off-road areas, into the evening and then the following day to meet up with their fellow firefighters. They were able to assist in the multiple large fires taking place in the state.

Crews arrived back home safely on Sunday, August 20. We are thankful for our crew’s dedication
and hard work they provide to all in need of their services.

Also, on August 14, Fire Chief Tenger and Deputy Fire Chief Sargis presented badges to the newly promoted Engineer, Brian Cagle and Captain, Shaun Skelton. We are all very proud of their accomplishments and excited for their future.
