Congratulations to the following Escondido North Zone Fire Explorer Academy #9 cadets:
Ezekiel Cervantes, Isaias Lopez, Keian Hawker, Eric Martinez, and Connor Truly.
These cadets graduated last Saturday, after participating and dedicating their time to the Escondido Fire Department Explorer Program, led by Firefighter Paramedic Lex Torres. Explorers must attend meetings once a month and are introduced to the fundamentals of the job. They train in several disciplines that include hose lays, forcible entry ladders, and general firefighting skills. A special thank you to

On Friday, June 9, Fire crews from Stations 1, 2 and 3 responded to the area of E. Valley Pkwy and Lake Wohlford Rd for a reported vegetation fire. Crews proceeded up the Valley Center Grade to discover several 5×5 hot spots along the roadway.
Due to the quick action of firefighters, the fires were quickly extinguished without further incident.
