SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Ethan Alvano of the Cal State San Marcos men’s basketball team has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week..
For the week, he averaged 30 points, 6.5 assists and 34 minutes per game. He also led the team with five steals in the first two games.
Alvano helped guide CSUSM to a win on opening night, 84-57, over Biola. He finished with a game-high 18 points and eight assists.
The following night, that performance was quickly backed up by setting a new CSUSM record for most points scored in a single game. He went 15-of-21 from the field and finished with 42 points for the game. Defensively, he recorded three steals and also made a game-high seven three-pointers along with five assists.
This is the third time the senior has earned the weekly honors dating back to last season.
