Heads up – the annual and eagerly awaited Ramona Air Fair & Fly-In returns to Ramona Airport on Saturday, October 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
With free admission and parking, this family-friendly community event will feature special guest meet and greets with the Red Eagles Formation Team, Ramona Rattlers, March Aero Club and Air Group One, tours of the Cal Fire and U.S. Forest Service aerial fire-fighting aircraft, airplane rides, free Young Eagle flights for kids ages 8-17, free hot air balloon rides with RE/MAX, airplane and helicopter displays, live country music from Whiskey Ridge, food trucks, a classic car show, a beer garden hosted by Hangar 24, an all-day Kid’s Zone, and much more. With Ramona Airport being home to CDF’s Ramona Air Attack Base, the oldest air attack base in the system, wildfire awareness and prevention remains a strong and consistent theme in the day’s various activities. A favorite of adults and children alike, Smokey Bear himself will even be swinging by to celebrate his 75th year helping to prevent wildfires.
Don’t miss out on all the fun – and don’t forget to wish Smokey Bear a very happy birthday!
