3rd Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival presented by the San Marcos Lions Club

May 18 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

The numbers of western monarch butterflies go up and down, up, and down. Although, in recent years there has been growth in the community. The monarchs are still facing danger. The fate of the iconic western monarch butterfly is tied inextricably to the health of the planet, and that means our fate as human beings is governed by the same forces that affect the monarchs. Please join The San Marcos Lions Club, partnered with the local monarch butterfly community, at their 3rd Annual North County Monarch Butterfly Festival. The festival will feature butterfly-inspired arts and crafts for kids, butterfly-inspired vendors along with other local vendors, native plants, expert conservation speakers, food, and free vision screenings provided by The San Marcos Lions Club. Some of the exhibitors include, San Diego Herpetological Society, and the experts at Caterpillar Chow, Wings of Change, and more.

A true community event to enjoy the day where The San Marcos Lions, monarch butterfly local experts, Boys Scouts, & Girls Scouts work together.

The 3rd annual festival! In the last 2 years, it has boasted more than 1000+ guests. 200 kids projects made and a great day all around spreading the awareness for the necessity for conservation of the monarch butterfly species. This year we hope to double those numbers and provide 50 vision screenings for children. The San Marcos Lions Club mission is to serve the community, provide vision screenings for children and also fund doctor vision screening and their glasses.
