CARLSBAD-BASED NONPROFIT BEACONS, INC. ANNOUNCES THE GRAND OPENING OF ITS NEW, LARGER FACILITY WHERE THEY WILL HOST ITS 2023 FUNDRAISER “LET’S GLOW CRAZY” NOVEMBER 4TH.
This year’s event will raise funds towards a new creative and performing arts program, as well as to support other ongoing vocational and social/recreational programs.
CARLSBAD, CA, October 9, 2023 – Beacons announced today that they are open for business at its new facility located at 2245 Camino Vida Roble, Suite 100 Carlsbad, just south of Palomar Airport.
Executive Director Kimberleigh Kopp said, “Today is the result of hard work by our entire Beacons’ team to find and create a space to expand our innovative programming to support adults with diverse intellectual abilities in North County.” The facility is close to three times the size of the previous space (with over 14,000 sq ft) and will be home to the non-profit’s growing programming including a (2,400+ sq ft) multi-use space that can be used for fitness classes, performing arts and social recreational events. The 2023 expansion marks Beacons’ third expansion since opening in November 2018 to reduce program waitlists.
The fundraiser on November 4th will welcome over 200 people ready to dance the night away in their festive glow wear and neon setting. Food and drinks will be served prior to Beacons’ silent and live auction. Beacon is actively seeking community members to donate goods, services and unique experiences to support the 2023 fundraiser.
“This year’s fundraising event will not only help provide much needed resources to support existing programs like our vocational and social recreational programs, but also new programs such as the creative and performing arts division currently in development,” said Board Member and Fundraising Chair Mary Backer.
