Deadline Nears for EAA 2023 Art Scholarship Program

The Escondido Art Association’s 2022-23 Visual Arts Scholarship Program for graduating seniors enrolled in any Escondido-based high school is well underway with presentations being made at many Escondido schools and a March 4th deadline approaching for submittal of entries. Awards in the amount of $1,000 will be made through the generosity of Dan Forster and Heather Moe of Design Moe Kitchen & Bath in the following amounts: $500 for First Place; $250 for Second Place; $150 for Third Place; and two Honorable Mention awards in the amount of $50 each.

All Escondido high school seniors who will be graduating this year are invited to participate and should see their Scholarship Coordinators/art teachers or visit the EAA website www.escondidoartassociation.com for complete information and to download applicable materials, i.e. Application/Entry Form, Student Guidelines, Poster, Judging Guidelines, Hanging requirements, etc. Students will be judged on their submissions of three pieces of artwork (1 original), an essay about their interest in art, a letter of recommendation from their guidance counselor or art teacher, and the Application/Entry Form. All artwork will remain on exhibit in the gallery for the month of March, with pick-up on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.

All entries must be submitted to the Artists Gallery at 121 W. Grand Avenue in Escondido, by Saturday, March 4, 2023, 11:00am – 5:00pm. A reception and award ceremony will take place at the Artists Gallery on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Awards will be presented at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
