As part of summer programming, Oceanside Public Library invites you to share your thoughts and experiences about this unique time in history. Tell your stories that reflect on these past few months spent social distancing and/or in quarantine. Give first-hand accounts of the conversations, the protests and changes that you have seen this year. Submissions will be accepted between June 1 and July 31 and compiled in a digital BiblioBoard collection for the community to read as well as be held for future generations. Visit https://oceanside.librariesshare.com/digdeeper/ to submit stories.
In preparation for submitting your work, The Oceanside Public Library has planned two online Writing Workshops for adults to help you craft your best work for the Dig Deeper, Oceanside Summer Writing Project. Leslie Clark, a Library writers’ group moderator, will lead both workshops. These workshops will be held via zoom, and pre-registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Visit https://forms.gle/HJNKpFdHguaG2sJWA to register.
At the first workshop, July 7 at 11:00 a.m., Clark will prepare writers to begin the writing process. She will lead a brainstorming session for participants to talk about ideas and possibilities for writing. At the second workshop, on July 28, at 11:00 a.m., participants will have an opportunity to share and discuss their writing before submitting final work to the writing project archive. The writing project is open to all ages, but workshops will be age dependent. The workshops described here are for adults ages 18 and up.
