Peas, lettuce, chard, broccoli – what are the different kinds of soil? How can we make soil by composting? This month the Kids in the Garden class we will learn about kinds of soils, build composts, and plant in our Incredible Edibles garden. The Kids in the Garden class emphasizes hands-on discovery and fun for all! Plan to come to Alta Vista Botanical Gardens (at the top of the hill inside Brengle Terrace Park) on Saturday March 9th between 10 am and 12 pm.
Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is now in our tenth year of getting kids outdoors to discover their environment, enjoy nature, dig into gardening, learn about natural resources, and to share art and music.
Kids in the Garden Class features hands-on nature: learning about animal homes and then walking the Gardens to discover habitats. Class fee is $5 per child, and $5 per adult Garden entry. Pre-registration required at farmerjonesavbg@gmail.com or (760) 822-6824. Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is at 1270 Vale Terrace Drive. Visit our website: altavistabotanicalgardens.org
