The City of Oceanside will conduct a public workshop on a draft Economic Development Element (EDE) of the City’s General Plan. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 29 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall (300 North Coast Highway) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
The first hour of the workshop will follow an open house format, with participants invited to circulate among a number of staffed stations to learn about and provide comment on various topics. The stations will feature infographics that identify key economic considerations (e.g., the supply of vacant and underutilized employment land) and highlight draft EDE themes, goals, and policies.
The second hour of the workshop will be devoted to a whole-group presentation and question-and-answer session. City staff is particularly interested in gathering participants’ ideas on how to effectively implement EDE policies.
Draft EDE themes, goals, and policies will be posted to the project webpage (http://www.ci.oceanside.ca.us/gov/dev/planning/gpu/) at least a week in advance of the workshop.
Should you have questions about the project, or if you are unable to attend the workshop but want to provide comment, please contact Principal Planner Russ Cunningham at rcunningham@ci.oceanside.ca.us or (760) 435-3525.
