The City of Carlsbad offers a variety of fun and exciting spring camps for kids ages 3 to 13, during the week of April 2 – 6, to coincide with spring break for Carlsbad, San Marcos and Encinitas Unified school districts. Online registration is now open.

Aspiring chefs will love Top Chef Cooking camp at Harding Community Center, where 6 to 12 year olds will learn food handling skills, menu preparation and how to cook delicious dishes.
Sewing camp at Leo Carrillo Ranch, for kids ages 7 to 13 is for all levels. Beginners will learn the basics of how to thread machines, finish and iron seams, and how to add closures (snaps, buttons, zippers, ties), while more experienced campers can learn how to cut from a pattern and make a simple garment.
Aquatics camp at Alga Norte Aquatic Center will have campers experiencing aquatics fun including water games and sports, organized swim lessons and various dry land activities.
In Basketball camp at Calavera Hills and Stagecoach community centers, 6 to 13 year olds will learn skills to put them on the fast track to becoming a confident basketball player.
Soccer camp at Alga Norte Community Park will help 3 to 12 years olds improve ball skills, build confidence and make new friends.
Pee Wee – World of Color camp at Holiday Park, for 3 to 5 year olds, will engage little ones with arts and crafts, boogie time, circle stories and more.
Radical Reptile camp will introduce kids ages 5 to 11, to various reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, insects and more at Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch.
Smash Lab camp at Alga Norte Community Park will allow campers to build structures and put them to the ultimate test. Kids will figure out how things work and then smash them.
Science camp at Magee Park is all hands-on fun where kids ages 4 to 12 will perform experiments like making planes that fly over tall buildings, creating glow-in-the-dark styrofoam, creating lightning bolts, do never-seen-before dry ice experiments, construct electric buzzers and switches, fire marshmallow cannons and much, much more!

The Spring/Summer Community Services Guide is filled with more than 70 pages of activities for children to enjoy during their spring and summer vacation, including swim lessons for children of all ages and ability. Summer camp themes include creative and performing arts, aquatics, science and exploration, sports and fitness and traditional day camps that run from June 18 through Aug. 24. The guide is available online and at community centers, libraries and city buildings. Parents should sign up early since many camps sell out.
