On Friday, March 17 just after 8:00 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station, as well as the Vista Fire Department, responded to a traffic collision involving a Ford Escape and an adult male pedestrian near the intersection of Taylor Street and Cresthaven Drive in Vista. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Taylor Street when it struck a man who was crossing just east of the intersection. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The Vista Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
