On August 10, 2020, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s San Marcos Station, Traffic Division, responded to a single vehicle roll-over collision on Schoolhouse Way, east of Elfin Forest Road. Based on the preliminary investigation, a white Chevy pickup was southwest bound on Schoolhouse Way at an unsafe speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb, the vehicle then continued over the curb and down an embankment, where it overturned. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old white male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other involved parties to the collision.
It is unknown at this time if Alcohol was a factor in the collision. The San Marcos Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
