On Feb 25 2020 at approximately 1648 hours, deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle along the 1000 block of Mar Vista Drive in Vista. Upon arriving, deputies learned a 12-year-old male juvenile had been struck by one vehicle which fled the scene. The juvenile was transported via Air Ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital for injuries to his right leg and abrasions to his face. The initial investigation indicated that the vehicle that struck the juvenile was a 2019-2020 white Toyota sedan. The sedan should have damage to the right mirror and possible front-end damage. The Vista Traffic Division is handling the ongoing investigation.
