Fentanyl Safety Training Provides Vista Breweries with Lifesaving Skills

On March 19, 2025, The Roadies Brewing Co., in partnership with the Vista Chamber of Commerce and Vista Community Clinic, held a free fentanyl safety training for local breweries. The goal was to educate brewery owners and staff members on how to recognize signs of fentanyl exposure, effectively respond to emergencies, and administer naloxone to prevent fatal overdoses.
Naloxone, a life-saving medication, can reverse opioid overdoses by quickly restoring normal breathing. It is commonly administered as a nasal spray but is also available in an injectable form.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that nearly 40% of overdose deaths occur when others are nearby, highlighting the importance of naloxone in such emergencies.
“It’s no secret that the United States is in the midst of a fentanyl crisis. We all have the responsibility to care for our immediate communities and hopefully prevent any incidents from happening on our watch. We’re thankful to have the Vista Chamber and Vista Community Clinic gather and educate our brewing community about our role in this issue,” said Matt Lawson, Brand Ambassador for The Roadies Brewing Co. Naloxone is free in San Diego County, making it easy to access this life-saving medication.
