In 2019, the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) awarded the City a $150,000 grant toward the purchase and installation of five Fitness Courts throughout the community. In November 2020, the City of Escondido unveiled the first fitness court located in Mountain View Park.The next two courts will be located at Kit Carson Park and at the Library. These courts will incorporate a public art component and we’d like your input! We solicited mural proposals for the next two courts, and received 30 submissions from 9 artists in our community. The initial review team included staff from various City departments,experts from the National Fitness Campaign, and the Public Art Commission.
