Storms are returning later today and this week, which means this could once again be a good time to pick up FREE unfilled sandbags to help you protect your property. Keeping a few sandbags ready may help ward off water if it approaches your home during the forecasted storms. Up to 10 unfilled empty sandbags are available at the Public Works building (1165 E. Taylor Street) during normal business hours Monday through Thursday from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm and on alternate Fridays from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Residents can purchase fill materials at local home centers and building supply stores. (Homeowners living outside the city of Vista limits should check San Diego County’s ReadySanDiego.gov website for County sandbag distribution locations.)
