On Saturday, January 25th, San Marcos became the fifth restaurant location for Frida’s Taqueria. A crowd of family and friends, including San Marcos Mayor Rebecca Jones and the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, celebrated a ribbon cutting for their Grand Opening.
Their new location is at 1158 W. San Marcos Blvd. in front of the Regal Edwards San Marcos Theater. Grace and Roberto began Frida’s in 2017 opening at the Farmers Market in San Diego Horton Plaza. They quickly expanded over the years to farmers markets in Oceanside, Poway, Encinitas, Leucadia and Carlsbad. Roberto said his family has always been in the “meat cutter” food business. He said the family business uses sons and daughters, relatives and friends at the different farmers markets and they will continue to offer Frida’s at the Oceanside, Poway, Encinitas and Leucadia Farmer’s Markets. Grace said they consider their restaurant the “In-N-Out of Tacos”, offering a very concise and delicious menu at a reasonable cost.
Customers can also watch their food being prepared. After you order you can watch the large spits of meat spinning as the various meats are cut off for the items ordered.
The Frida’s menu includes a variety of Tacos at $3.49, a variety of Burritos at $12.99, Quesa Tacos, Fries, Tortas, Mulita, Papa Asada, a variety of Nachos and drinks.
On Taco Tuesday the tacos are $1.99
Grace also said the City of San Marcos has been extremely helpful in everything they needed to become established in San Marcos. They are open from 10:00am until 11:00pm each day and stay open until midnight on the weekends. Grace and Robert said they want to become an active member of the community working with schools, churches, and organizations. First responders are offered discounts at Frida’s.
Congratulations Grace and Robert
