Oceanside, Calif. (October 9, 2024) — Frontwave Arena, the state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue that opened last month in Oceanside, California, is thrilled to announce the full game schedule for the San Diego Sockers’ 2024-25 season. The 2024-25 Socker’s schedule features twelve home games, the first of which will be held on Saturday, December 14th against Utica, culminating with the club’s final regular season match at Frontwave Arena on Sunday, March 30, against Tacoma. This season marks a significant transition as the Sockers settle into their new home at Frontwave Arena and welcome new General Manager Miguel “Chiky” Luna.
Since their establishment in 1978, the San Diego Sockers have set the standard in American indoor soccer, achieving an impressive legacy of sixteen professional championships. With a remarkable record and back-to-back Major Arena Soccer League titles in 2022, the Sockers continue to inspire and engage fans as they embark on a new chapter at Frontwave Arena.
As part of the team’s transition to their new home, Sean Bowers, who has served as General Manager since 2016, will be stepping away from the Sockers organization to take on the role of Executive Vice President of Sports Management at Frontwave Arena. Under Bowers’ leadership, the Sockers compiled an outstanding record of 138 wins, 26 losses, and 5 draws over eight seasons, securing both MASL and MASL M2 championships.
Taking the reins as General Manager is Miguel “Chiky” Luna, who has been with the Sockers organization since 2016 as the Vice President of Operations. A former player and champion with the Sockers, Chiky brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position, aiming to elevate the team’s performance on and off the field. His strategic vision has already been instrumental in attracting top talent, including standout players such as Ceasar Cerda, Brandon Escoto, and goalkeeper Boris Pardo.
