A man is facing numerous charges after a ghost gun was found during a traffic stop.
It happened on Thursday, September 14 just before 10:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Santa Fe Avenue in Vista. Deputies with the Vista Sheriff’s Station Gang Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a man for not having a license plate on a motorcycle.
The man pulled over, but ran inside a restaurant to avoid the deputies. He was located and taken into custody without incident. The man was found to be in possession of a ghost gun and loaded magazine.
Unlike legal firearms, ghost guns are not marked with serial numbers. There is no way to track their origins or their owners making it harder for law enforcement to investigate or solve a crime.
Alan Altamirano (DOB: 5/30/2004) was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition, resisting an officer and carrying a concealed weapon. He is free on a $50,000 bail.
Since the beginning of the year, the Vista Sheriff’s Station has confiscated 21 ghost guns. 15 of those seizures were made by the Gang Enforcement Team.

Arresto Por Arma Fantasma – Vista
Hombre arrestado por posesión de arma casera.
Un hombre enfrenta numerosos cargos después de que se encontró una pistola fantasma durante una parada de tráfico.
Ocurrió el jueves 14 de septiembre justo antes de las 10:30 a.m. en la cuadra 700 de North Santa Fe Avenue en Vista. Los agentes del Equipo de Control de Pandillas realizaron una parada de tráfico contra un hombre por no tener una placa en una motocicleta.
El hombre se detuvo, pero corrió dentro de un restaurante para evitar a los agentes. Fue localizado y puesto bajo custodia sin incidentes. Se descubrió que el hombre estaba en posesión de una pistola fantasma y un cargador cargado.
A diferencia de las armas de fuego legales, las armas fantasma no están marcadas con números de serie. No hay forma de rastrear sus orígenes o sus dueños, lo que dificulta que las fuerzas del orden investiguen o resuelvan un crimen.

Desde principios de año, la Estación del Sheriff de Vista ha confiscado 21 armas fantasma. 15 de esas incautaciones fueron realizadas por el Equipo de Lucha contra las Pandillas.
