March 13, 2025, Vista, CA – The ENCORE Bookstore is overflowing with quality used books for sale at garage-sale prices. On Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10AM to 4PM, the prices drop even lower during their monthly half-off sale on all books, DVDs, and CDs. The store, run by the nonprofit, all-volunteer Friends of the Vista Library, is located just inside the Vista Library building at 700 Eucalyptus Ave, Vista, CA 92084.
The ENCORE Bookstore currently has a glut of hardback fiction books. These average $3 each, and on sale days, the price drops to $1.50 each. Music and movie DVDs, normally $1 per disc, will sell for 50 cents during this sale. Paperback fiction books average $2 on regular days and $1 on sale days. The bookstore contains a robust children’s section, from board books for infants to preteen and young adult graphic novels. Nonfiction books include biographies and books on history, arts and crafts, and more. There is also a whole section on coffee table books.
The ENCORE Bookstore in one of the largest used bookstores that are run by Friends of the Library groups in San Diego County due to a smart design decision when the library building was built in the early 1990s. All proceeds benefit the Vista library and fund numerous free-to-the-public classes for adults and youth, a monthly live music concert, new collections and library materials, and capital improvements.
