Hot temperatures are set to surge across San Diego County starting Thursday morning, reaching 15–20 degrees above normal, according to the National Weather Service.

On Wednesday, we have warm and sunny weather with highs in the upper 60s to low/mid 70s from the beaches to the valleys. Offshore winds will gust 15–25 mph in the mountain communities.

Heat Advisory:
From Thursday 10 a.m. to Friday 8 p.m., the county is under a moderate heat advisory from the coast to the foothills.

Valleys: 93–98°F
Beaches: 86–92°F
The high-pressure ridge responsible for the heat follows a low-pressure system that moved east to Texas, bringing thunderstorms to East Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The ridge will weaken slightly over the weekend before strengthening again on Monday.

Impact and Safety Tips:

This heat is especially risky for those not acclimated, including the elderly and people with medical conditions
Stay hydrated, use air conditioning, and avoid outdoor activity between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Check on neighbors and vulnerable family members
