The Double Peak Challenge is back on Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at 7:30 a.m. in San Elijo Hills (1105 Elfin Forest Rd).
This year marks the 10th annual race and features three options for runners of all ages and experience levels:
10K Competitive Race: a challenging 1,176 ft elevation gain to the summit of Double Peak offering sweeping views of North County.
5K Fun Run: untimed but still a great way to take on the trail.
Kids Trail Trot: a free and fun sprint just for the little ones.
Participants will receive a race shirt, bib, wooden medal, and (if 21 or older) a ticket to the beer garden. Pre-race bib pickup is available Friday, September 19, from 4–7 p.m. at the San Elijo Recreation Center.
All proceeds benefit local organizations, including Friends of San Marcos Parks & Recreation and the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos.
