The following information is fragmentary and has not been completely verified. It is based,in part, on hearsay and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.
On July 31, 2020 at 4:15 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call of a traffic collision at the intersection of W. San Marcos Blvd. and S. Rancho Sante Fe Rd. in the city of San Marcos. While conducting the traffic collision investigation, deputies found an unidentified female in the back seat with trauma to her body. Paramedics arrived and unfortunately, she was declared deceased. The driver of the vehicle was detained at the scene. The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will notify the next of kin and perform an autopsy to determine the female’s cause and manner of death.
