Oceanside Unified School District believes families and community members deserve to know how public funds are used. Independent audits for the 2024–2025 school year have been completed by the accounting firm Nigro & Nigro, PC, and the results confirm that district funds were managed responsibly, accurately, and according to the law. What the Audits Show
The independent auditors reviewed the District’s financial records and confirmed that:
● Financial reports are accurate and follow required accounting rules
● Strong internal controls are in place to protect public funds
● Money was spent only on approved purposes
These audits provide assurance that the District is being a careful steward of taxpayer dollars.
School Facility Bond Funds: Proposition H and Measure W
California law requires strict oversight of school bond funds. These funds may only be used for school facility
projects—such as building, repairing, modernizing, and equipping schools.
The 2024–2025 audits for both Proposition H and Measure W confirmed that:
● Bond funds were spent only on voter-approved school facility projects
● All legal and accountability requirements were met
● There were zero audit findings, meaning no issues were identified
This confirms that bond funds are being used exactly as promised to voters.
Why This Matters to Families and Taxpayers
These independent audits help protect public trust. They ensure that:
● Taxpayer dollars are used as intended
● School facilities remain safe and up to date
● Financial decisions are transparent and accountable
Annual audits are required every year until all bond funds are fully spent, providing ongoing oversight.
