Oceanside, CA – On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at approximately 6:19 p.m., the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a major injury collision involving a single motorcyclist in the area of Avenida Del Oro and Old Grove Road. The collision occurred when a 2024 black Kawasaki Ninja sport bike lost control, while passing a vehicle at a high rate of speed. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered major injuries.
The rider was transported to Tri-City Medical Center and went into cardiac arrest. He was pronounced deceased at 7:16 p.m. The 22-year-old male rider is an active duty Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton. The identity of the deceased rider is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
