No Limits Fitness Offers Personalized Training and Evaluation in Small Gym Atmosphere

By TR Robertson
LaQuisha Cooks, Owner of No Limits Fitness, has wanted to own a fitness center ever since she began running a variety of fitness programs as a certified instructor when stationed in various locations while serving in the Navy. She was on active duty in the Navy for 13 years as an Information Systems Technologist, last duty station in San Diego, and was discharged in February of 2021.

LaQuisha is married and her husband is still on active duty and they have one daughter. After getting out of the Navy she began working at Tri-City Christian School as a multi-media teacher and took over coaching the girls’ basketball team. She has a background in both coaching and playing basketball having both played and coached overseas and coaching the EBO AAU Elite team in San Diego. Her dream of opening a multi-use fitness center became a reality when Element Fitness became available for her to purchase and become a first-time business owner. Her passion for health and wellness is evident when talking to her about the plans she has for providing a variety of activities, programs and workshops dealing with personal training, strength conditioning, and all areas of fitness. She is also working on her Masters Degree in Kinesiology.

One of the first changes she made in the fitness center was to brighten the fitness center up with a new vibrant paint scheme. She has teamed up with Randy Maldonado, who is affiliated with Alpha Training 760, and together they moved the equipment in the fitness center to create a better flow for individuals working out. She also purchased new equipment for the fitness center.

One of her newest investments for clients is the In Body scanner used for body composition analysis to measure muscle and body fat.

In Body scans are available for $50.

Randy works with around 30 clients a week centering on weight loss, muscle building and personalized training for individuals. He is also a Coldwell Banker Real Estate broker adjusting his schedule as needed. Also assisting LaQuisha is Sandy Dean on Monday, Wednesday and Friday specializing in fitness for older clients.

LaQuisha said they are making the most out of the space they have to make sure everything is functional so they can provide great customer service. Comments on their web page indicate their clients like the smaller size of the fitness center and how helpful and accessible the staff is. LaQuisha said, “If you want help in any way there are people available to assist you.” The fitness center hours when staff is here is Monday through Friday 6 am until 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8 am until 5 pm. The center is technically open 24 hours, every day of the year, as members are supplied with a key card for entrance after hours. This allows members who have different schedules to work out as needed in a safe environment. The doors automatically lock after entrance after hours and cameras are recording for the customers safety.

On their web page, www.nolimitsfitnessinspire.com, the different membership levels are detailed ranging from Gold and Silver to VIP packages. They are also on various social media venues like Instagram and Facebook. LaQuisha offers student athlete training and family, student and military/veterans discounts. A Spanish speaking trainer is available. They accept a variety of payment programs, such as Prime and Silver Sneakers. Also offered is a one-time free evaluation personal training session for 45 minutes for first time individuals. No Limits Fitness is a Vista Chamber of Commerce member.
LaQuisha plans on contacting local schools to inform them about the various student athlete training sessions offered. Two upcoming summer camps include a Basketball Camp in June that will also offer weight training, strength conditioning as well as basketball skills. In July a Speed, Strength and Agility Camp will be offered. Check their web page for details.
Currently the fitness center is working with around 150 clients, with room for many more. LaQuisha said, “We truly aim to help people in our intimate facility. Your success is our goal with trainers and coaches who care.” Stop by, meet the staff and see if No Limits fitness fits the type of training center you are looking for.
No Limits Fitness is located at 950 E. Vista Way, phone 760-295-1348.
