Vista, CA …The 2022 North County Celtic Queen Pageant Coronation was held Saturday, September 11, 2021 for Family, Friends, and local 1st Responders; at Faith Lutheran Church in Vista. The North County Celtic Queen Pageant and Scholarship Fund is a local non-for-profit 501c3 Organization, that promotes community service and mentorship. With 2 divisions; Miss Teen and Miss, the pageant is the featured fundraiser for a local charity partner. Our annual charity of choice is the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary.
The Pageant held a “People’s Choice ” award contest to benefit the Sanctuary, where donors cast $1 per vote for their favorite Candidate.
For the North County Celtic Queen People’s Choice, the winner was Miss Irene Faciones. Most started volunteering in June, when our pre-Coronation points begin being offered. They had an amazing “Summer of Service” volunteering with BGC Vista during their summer field trips and activities. Most Candidates came to Coronation Day with a pocket full of points, some great experience and confidence!
The Organization also promoted our “Pageanting with Purpose” program, asking that all Families, Guests, and Candidates bring a donation item for the animals. The response was overwhelming and the Ladies collected over 200 pounds of donation items, and $525.00 in “vote” donations, that will be presented to the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
This year the Candidates held a special 9/11 20th Anniversary Remembrance during the Coronation. Remy Arnold led the Guests and Candidates in a moment of silence and reflection, during that time each Candidate came forward and rang a bell to honor those lost. The Candidates also created a “Remembrance Tree” for all in attendance to add messages of thanks; which was filled by the end of the event, and presented to 1st Responder attendees from Vista Fire Department E123.
