“I feel terrible for the businesses that have abided by all of the rules, gone above and beyond and now have to shutdown, with no end in sight. The closures of more businesses in the state of California, when the vast majority have been practicing all of the safety protocols, was unwarranted,” said County Supervisor Jim Desmond.
“Businesses continue to be punished because of a lack of foresight from our Governor. We were told we had an ample amount of testing and just a few weeks later, we are running low. Other states had the vision, but not California.”
Desmond said, “We shouldn’t have to be in this position, but Supervisor Gaspar, San Marcos Mayor, Rebecca Jones and I have sent a letter asking the Governor to streamline outdoor permits for hair salons, nail salons, and barbershops, so they can operate outside.”
