SDNEDC, the City of Carlsbad, and CSUSM have partnered to present a summer internship initiative offering discounted housing (as low as $350/month in CSUSM student housing) for interns seeking positions at North County companies but encountering challenges in securing short-term housing. Open to local and non-local students, the program aims to support interns uncertain about accommodations. Students can contract directly with CSUSM, or companies can contact CSUSM to offer housing as an internship benefit. Additionally, three optional “edutainment” programs are planned, focusing on personal networking and insights from hiring managers to enrich interns’ experiences.
