On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 8:50 PM, the Oceanside Police Department received reports of a violent altercation involving several suspects at 1400 N. Harbor Drive. According to witness accounts, two individuals, identified by bandanas covering their faces, were seen assaulting several men with baseball bats. Before officers arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Multiple victims were identified and treated for various degrees of injuries at area hospitals.
Oceanside Police gang detectives conducted follow-up on the case. During the investigation, five individuals were identified as the suspects responsible for the crimes committed during this incident. This is believed to be a gang-motivated crime.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, detectives located two of the identified suspects in Vista, CA. Jorge L. Perez of Vista and Pablo F. Gonzalez of Oceanside were taken into custody without incident. Both were booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
