Part of the varied maintenance of the Harbor is dock replacement when they reach the end of their expected life cycle. The Harbor’s oldest dock, “J Dock,” near the Marina Suites, is currently being replaced after 38 years of use. 2/3 of the new dock is now in place, and completion is expected by the end of the month. The new dock features a modern, low-maintenance system with an ADA-accessible gangway and upgrades to the fire suppression and electrical systems. Other recent Harbor improvements include renovated restrooms, dock storage lockers, a new walkway near the commercial docks, and ADA improvements to the tunnel, including lighting and crosswalks.
