Oil Painters of America

ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA — MAR. 30, 2021:
The Museum at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is introducing Oil Painters of America: 30th National Juried Exhibition on Saturday, April 10, 2021. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, May 16, 2021. Dedicated to preserving and promoting excellence in representational art, Oil Painters of America’s primary mission is to advance the cause of traditional, representational fine art by drawing attention to the lasting value of fine drawing, color, composition, and the appreciation of light. Every piece in the exhibition will be for sale, a portion of which will help benefit the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. More information about the exhibition is available on the Center’s website: artcenter.org/museum.

The Center’s Museum staff are honored to bring this exhibition to Escondido. Mikee Ferran, Exhibition & Visual Arts Supervisor for the Museum remarked: “We are so excited to bring over 250 pieces of artwork from all over North America to Escondido. This is the first time The Center’s Museum has featured an exhibition of this scale, and we are looking forward to sharing the talents of Oil Painters of America with our community”.

The Oil Painters of America Exhibition will be the first of exhibition 2021 that will be open to the public at the Museum at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. The Museum’s Winter exhibition, Campus Creatives, was unfortunately not allowed to open for public viewing due to state-wide COVID-19 restrictions, although artists’ works were featured publicly on social media. The exhibition featured contemporary works from Fine Arts Faculty across San Diego’s colleges and universities.

The Center’s top priority is ensuring the safety of the community it serves. The Museum will be open to the public at limited capacity to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff. All visitors will be required to enjoy the exhibition while wearing a mask.

Oil Painters of America will come alongside the reopening of many other arts & entertainment mediums in San Diego as the pandemic wanes and vaccinations rise. This month, The Center announced a two new outdoor entertainment series’ – On the Green and Cabaret in the Courtyard.
