Vista, California; August 20, 2024 – Operation HOPE-North County is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiffany “Esperanza” Zapico as Executive Director. With an extensive background in nonprofit leadership and a passionate commitment to families and single women experiencing homelessness, Esperanza is advantageously poised to lead Operation HOPE-North County into its next chapter of growth and impact.

Operation HOPE-North County has been dedicated to offering a safe, caring, and supportive environment for families with children and single women facing homelessness since 2003. By providing essential resources and programs, the organization helps these individuals rebuild their lives and reclaim their independence.

A proud local resident of Vista, California, Esperanza brings over twenty years of experience in nonprofit management, with a proven track record in fundraising, community engagement, team leadership and program development. Her love for mission driven work started when she served on the front lines as a member of AmeriCorps NCCC and Teach For America and later as an AmeriCorps Program Manager.
She previously served as the Executive Director of Literacy Trust, Inc. and Chief Executive Officer at the Benedict Silverman Foundation. During her career she has led many organizations through strategic growth and expansion. Her expertise and skill sets will be invaluable as Operation HOPE-North County continues to expand its services and reach.

“Esperanza’s deep commitment to social impact, extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and dynamic and engaging presence make her an ideal leader for Operation HOPE-North County,” said Beatriz Palmer, Chair of the Board of Directors. “We are excited to work with her to advance our mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Esperanza Zapico is equally enthusiastic about joining the team. “Operation HOPE-North County has a remarkable history of supporting vulnerable families and single women. I am honored to step into this role and work alongside such a dedicated group and talented staff and incredible community volunteers. I am excited to collaborate with our esteemed Board of Directors, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and deep commitment to our mission. Together, with the board and our stakeholders, I look forward to building on our foundation to further our mission and impact.” said Ms. Zapico.
