Palomar Medical Center Escondido Emergency Department Earns 2023 Emergency Nurses Lantern Award

Palomar Medical Center Escondido is proud to announce that its Emergency Department (ED) has received the esteemed ENA Lantern Award, an honor earned by only 1% of emergency departments across the nation. Named after Florence Nightingale, the pioneering nurse and founder of modern nursing, the Lantern Award recognizes excellence and innovation in emergency care, symbolizing the commitment of healthcare professionals to provide extraordinary patient experiences.

The Lantern Award showcases the accomplishments of Palomar Medical Center Escondido’s Emergency Department through their incorporation of evidence-based practices and innovation into emergency care. With 72 licensed beds and approximately 100,000 visits per year, Palomar Medical Center Escondido is a vital healthcare institution serving the Escondido community and beyond. As a Level Two Trauma Center and Stroke and STEMI Center, their Emergency Department is dedicated to providing high-quality emergency care to patients in their time of need.

Palomar Medical Center Escondido Emergency Department’s Lantern Award will be on display in the Emergency Department. As a recipient, Palomar Health will be recognized
in upcoming ENA publications, on the ENA website and during Emergency Nursing 2023, the association’s annual conference in San Diego Sept. 21-23.
