The City’s Public Works Department has been experiencing severe delays and slowdowns in ordering equipment and supplies for damaged playground equipment in city parks. The parts delays are due to worldwide shipping issues with supply chains and manufacturing delays. Parts were no longer available on the shelf and had to be factory ordered. The replacement slide for South Buena Vista Park has arrived and crews will close the playground on January 27 to install the new equipment.

South Buena Vista Park: New replacement slide installation January 27, 2022
Luz Duran Park: replacement slide arrived and installation tentatively set week of January 31.
Sports Park: replacement slide section arrived and installation tentatively set week of January 31
Weekly checks are performed on city playground equipment and when a breakdown or future order is expected, parts are now ordered in advance to reduce the wait time.
