Funded by Measure X, the Pier View Way Bridge & Lifeguard Headquarters Improvement Project is underway. Access to the Oceanside Pier is provided by the concrete structure known as the Pier View Way Bridge, which also incorporates the City’s Lifeguard Headquarters. This structure was built in 1927 and is showing its age, despite maintenance through the years. The bridge needs significant rehabilitation/replacement to address its aged condition. Come learn how engineers, architects and preservationists are approaching this challenge and provide your input. Attend a public workshop on the project on Tuesday, August 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Library Community Rooms, 330 N. Coast Highway.
