The City of Carlsbad is moving forward with plans to permit a dog park at Poinsettia Community Park, located at 6600 Hidden Valley Road.
Parks & Recreation staff applied for a Conditional Use Permit Amendment and Coastal Development Permit to allow an off-leash dog park at Poinsettia Community Park. The official public notice is now available online.
The proposed site plan and design renderings are available online. The dog park design is not final and may change after further staff and public review.
Public hearings to consider permitting the dog park use and location will be scheduled in the coming months.

The dog park is conceptually designed for the east side of Poinsettia Community Park. Plans for the enclosed, off-leash dog park include separate areas for large and small dogs. Park features would include dog agility equipment, drinking fountains, picnic tables, benches, trash cans and perimeter lighting. For more information, visit the project website.
