Preparing for the New Economy With Online College Credit

For the summer 2020 semester, Palomar College will offer a variety of courses to help students further their careers, make a change, or brush up on their skills.

SAN MARCOS — As state authorities extend social distancing requirements for most Californians, students and professionals around North San Diego County are taking advantage of newly available online classes through Palomar College.

With the summer session beginning on May 26, there’s never been a better time to try remote learning, with hundreds of classes now available online, from career technical training to general education.

“This is a challenging time for many in our community, and Palomar College is ready to help people make the most of a difficult economic situation,” said Acting Superintendent/President Dr. Jack Kahn. “Many of our students are using this time to prepare, and we look forward to sharing the success stories that are going to emerge at Palomar as a result.”

Especially sought-after have been courses in career technical education, which imparts employable skills in a variety of trades and hot industries.

In addition to achieving general education course requirements and fulfilling prerequisites, students may pursue online opportunities such as specialized training and certificates or degrees in:

•Medical Industry
•Public Works
•Real Estate
•Web Design and Development
