At its Jan. 27 meeting, the City of Carlsbad’s Independent Redistricting Commission chose three preferred draft City Council district maps to be considered at the final public hearing, Feb. 17.
More than 65 draft maps have been reviewed to date, including 60 submitted by community members. Others were developed by the city’s professional demographer.
The first map will be based on the one below, with the thin strip of coastal area in District 4 moved to District 3.
