Registration to Begin April 9 for the City of Vista’s Summer Day Camps

Vista, CA – The City of Vista’s Recreation & Community Services Department announces that registration for its Summer Day Camp program for pre-kindergarten to grade 8 begins Tues., April 9, at 9 a.m. Weekly camps are June 10-August 9. Weekly fees are $207 for Vista residents and $253 for all others. Register by phone at (760) 643-5272 or in person at Jim Porter Recreation Center, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista. The first 200 in-person registrations will receive a free kid’s meal at Raising Canes.

In grades 9-11, young people interested in becoming future camp leaders may register for the Counselor in Training program. This program provides the training, skills, and experience necessary to be part of the counselor team. The weekly rate is $104 for Vista residents or $121 for all others.

Camps are divided by age group. Activities include crafts, games, science, sports, music, and other age-appropriate activities. Camps are offered weekdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with extended care at no additional cost, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and weekly entertainment are included.

Youth scholarships are available to cover registration fees for income-qualifying families. City staff will be available to process applications at the in-person registration on April 9. For scholarship information, visit cityofvista.com/youthscholarships.
