A man and a juvenile have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Ramona.
On August 10, just before 3:30 a.m., deputies from the Ramona Sheriff’s Substation responded to a robbery call at the Stars gas station located in the 1900 block of Main Street. Their investigation revealed several suspects assaulted an employee and stole items from the business.
On Wednesday, August 28, around 5:00 a.m., deputies served a search warrant related to the robbery investigation at a home in the 1700 block of San Vicente Road. Jahziel Hayes (DOB 03/03/2006) and a 16-year-old male juvenile were identified as suspects in the robbery. Both were arrested without incident.
Deputies located items connected to the robbery while searching the home. They also found two privately manufactured firearms, commonly referred to as ghost guns.
Unlike weapons made by a licensed manufacturer, ghost guns do not have a serial number or other identifiable markings. The lack of a serial number makes it extremely challenging for law enforcement agencies to track these firearms to their owner or maker, hindering or delaying investigations and crime-solving efforts.
Hayes was arrested for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of an illegal firearm. He was booked into the San Diego Central Jail.

La investigación conduce al descubrimiento de armas de fuego ilegales.
Un hombre y un menor de edad fueron arrestados en relación con un robo en Ramona.
El 10 de Agosto, poco antes de las 3:30 a.m., los oficiales del Ramona Sheriff’s Substation respondieron a una llamada de robo en la gasolinera Stars ubicada en la cuadra 1900 de Main Street. Su investigación reveló que varios sospechosos agredieron a un empleado y robaron artÃculos del negocio.
El Miercoles, 28 de Agosto, alrededor de las 5:00 a.m., los oficiales cumplieron una orden de allanamiento relacionada con la investigación del robo en una casa en la cuadra 1700 de San Vicente Road. Jahziel Hayes (fecha de nacimiento 03/03/2006) y un menor de 16 años fueron identificados como sospechosos del robo. Ambos fueron arrestados sin incidentes.
Los oficiales localizaron artÃculos conectados con el robo mientras registraban la casa. También encontraron dos armas de fuego de fabricación privada, comúnmente conocidas como armas fantasma.
A diferencia de las armas fabricadas por un fabricante autorizado, las armas fantasma no tienen un número de serie ni otras marcas identificables. La falta de un número de serie hace que sea extremadamente difÃcil para las agencias policiales rastrear estas armas de fuego hasta su propietario o fabricante, lo que dificulta o retrasa las investigaciones y los esfuerzos para resolver el crimen.
Hayes fue arrestado por robo, asalto con un arma letal y posesión de un arma de fuego ilegal. Fue ingresado en la Cárcel Central de San Diego.
